Genesis

(High school elective)

Textbook: The Bible; John J. Davis, Paradise to Prison (Baker Book House)

Course Requirements: This is a full-year Bible elective course for high school students. The student will be required to do the following:

1. Read the text of Genesis

2. Read the textbook

3. Answer fully the study questions for each chapter

4. Take two tests covering both the text of Genesis and the textbook

Daily Schedule: While adjustments can be made as needed, the daily schedule below should be followed as closely as possible. The numbers refer to the page numbers of the textbook. Each line represents one day's work. The amount of teacher input is up to the teacher, but the teacher should be familiar with the textbook and able to discuss its content on a daily basis with the student in order to be sure the student understands the concepts that are presented and in order to grade the daily study questions fairly.

Grading: The tests and the study questions are graded. How much weight to give to each of these is up to the teacher. Daily discussion with the student can also be given a grade if the teacher wishes.
