Homeschool

Having homeschooled our children for a number of years, we have experimented with various textbooks and curricula. Some we have liked, and some we have not. Some work for some of our children but not others. Some we have adapted to fit our situation and students. In the process I have developed several high school and junior high classes for our children, using available textbooks, videos, and other materials. The classes posted here are designed for minimal teacher input. Individual teachers can determine how much time they need to give to their students in explaining, clarifying, and reviewing the assigned material. While assignments are listed and tests are included with some classes, I leave it to teachers as to how to weigh scores and determine grades.

PHILOSOPHY (High School Elective) - This class is based on Francis Schaeffer's film series "How Should We Then Live" and David Noebel's book Understanding the Times (Abridged version).

JOHN (High School Bible Elective - 1 semester) - This class uses the Bible (NIV is recommended if you use the computer quiz) and the book Light in the Darkness: Studies in the Gospel of John by Homer A. Kent, Jr.

GENESIS (High School Bible Elective) - John J. Davis's Paradise to Prison: Studies in Genesis is the textbook for this class. Click here for Class Syllabus. Click here for Study Questions. Click here for Test #1 and Test #2.

SCIENCE 8 - Eighth-grade science using A Beka's Matter and Motion in God's Universe.
